Description

The well established Churchfields Industrial Estate is a thriving centre for business and industry. It has a wide range of units and occupiers; offices, light industry, general industrial, motor retail and a number of new business park developments. At 33 hectares the estate is one of the most important employment sites in Wiltshire. It is home to 165 companies employing around 4,500 people and together they have a combined annual turnover of £600 million.

The estate has developed over the last 30 years into a popular location with businesses and demand for space is high. The Salisbury Local Transport Plan includes a proposal to provide a new road link to the Churchfields Industrial Estate and the undertaking of an options appraisal leading to the production of a site master plan for the future development of the Churchfields Industrial Estate is one of Salisbury District Council’s three economic development strategic priorities.

In the last few years, there have been a number of significant areas of new development on Churchfields:

  • In the north west of the site, the Boathouse Meadow Business Park has been built, off Cherry Orchard Meadow Lane, to provide a range of small office and industrial space

  • A site on Whittle Road was redeveloped in 2001 to provide 26 new business units known as the Norton Enterprise Park

  • The Glenmore Business Park, on Telford Road, has been created in the last 12 months to provide new business, industrial and storage units on a site of approximately 1.5 ha.
