From early years education to healthcare, Wiltshire is home to excellent public services:
- Nursery provision and childcare are well catered for, countywide. Wiltshire County Council provides free part-time nursery education places for all three and four year olds in Wiltshire. Visit the Wiltshire Children’s Information Service for up to date information on private childcare places.
- Overall, our primary and secondary schools are excellent. The Schools Directory will help you to identify schools in a given catchment area, along with information on each one’s OFSTED and performance reports.
- We’re home to a number of excellent private schools, including the prestigious Marlborough College and Salisbury Cathedral School, plus two well-respected Grammar schools in Salisbury.
- Nearby universities are excellent and include those in Bath, Bristol, Southampton and Bournemouth.
- There are community hospitals in Chippenham, Devizes, Melksham, Westbury, Trowbridge, Warminster and Bradford on Avon, as well as a district hospital in Salisbury.
