Great Shopping Opportunities - Countywide PDF Print E-mail

Wiltshire’s shopping opportunities are excellent. Across the county, high street names sit comfortably alongside speciality shops as well as historic charter markets and farmers' markets.

Offering an alternative to the supermarket shop are a number of farmers' markets offering specialist and organic food and drink.

Our market towns are thriving with small specialty shops, while Bradford on Avon is noted for its galleries and antique shops. Visit the attractive covered market in Devizes, or Marlborough’s stylish, spacious main thoroughfare. Salisbury is full of character and heritage and home to streets such as Fish Row, Butcher Row and Poultry Cross, while nearby Wilton is another shopping destination, with the Wilton Shopping Village which is an attractive riverside complex built around an 18th century courtyard.

Among a wide range of retail centres, you’ll find Swindon’s McArthur Glen Designer Outlet nearby with everything under one roof at the restored GWR Victorian locomotive works, including places to eat and play area. Add the Steam Museum next door and you’re all set for a great day out.

All of this is complemented by the larger retail centres in Bath, Southampton, Swindon and Bristol Cribbs Causeway.

Check out our Made in North Wiltshire directory – our very own one-stop-shop, or search Visit Wiltshire for much more, for everything from garden centres to specialist shops and shopping centres.
